This year, the Michicagoan will take place on the University of Chicago campus. The University of Chicago is located in the Hyde Park neighborhood in the south side of Chicago.
All of the conference panels will take place at the Franke Institute for the Humanities, which is located on the East side of the Joseph Regenstein Library. Entering the library from the stairs on the Bartlett gardens side, attendees will find the Franke Institute immediately to their left, across from the book drop. The name of the Institute is located on both the entrance and the window outside. From the main library entrance on 57th street, turn right and proceed down the entry hallway until you reach glass doors and a book drop. The entrance to the Franke will be on your right.

Follow the path past a Smart Museum sign and through the iron gate. The art history department will be on your right, and the entrance to the smart museum will be on your left.
A party will be held in Swift Hall on Saturday. To get to Swift Hall from the Franke Institute, exit the Library and head south across 57th street. Pass under Cobb Gate, past the Botany Pond, and through the Hull arch. Then, proceed straight through the quad toward the Harper Library. Swift Hall will be the first building on your right after the Quad.
To find the party room, enter Swift hall and proceed down the south hallway. There will be a bulletin board of faculty pets to your left. The room is immediately after this on your left.
To get to Haskell Hall from the Franke Institute, exit the Library and head south across 57th street. Pass under Cobb Gate, past the Botany Pond, and through the Hull arch. Then, proceed straight through the quad toward the Harper Library. Haskell Hall will be the second building on your right after the Quad.
Some free parking is available on the street, particularly on Ellis ave. This is usually gone by mid-morning. If you don’t mind a walk, there is usually a free place to park in the residential streets around campus, particularly in East Hyde Park.
The conference has secured a special rate for Hotels located in downtown Hyde Park on 53rd street as well as south of the Midway on 61st. Students should fill out the registration form to indicate that they would like lodging with a Chicago PhD student at no cost.
